About Us

Dr. AlexandraMary (Alix) Kelada

Dr. Alix was born at Mercy San Juan Medical Center (just a few short years ago!). As a child, she would look at medical magazines and was fascinated by the pictures and the different diseases which afflict people. After graduating from Granite Bay High School, she started out taking classes at Sierra College, then when that wasn’t enough, took more classes at American River College. She went to UC San Diego (where 2 of her brothers also joined her) and studied Biochemistry/Cell Biology. She obtained a Masters in Public Health from San Diego State University, as well. Due to her public health training, she is interested in Preventive Medicine and giving back to the community. In between college and medical school, she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital with breast cancer patients. She also worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs and worked directly with active duty military and veterans. Because of these wonderful experiences, she has a deep appreciation for our men and women who serve our country. She went to the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine and views health problems from a holistic point of view. In 2020, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine from Orange Park Medical Center in Florida. She came home after 17 years away to join her father and brother in the FAMILY practice! She loves to hike, go to live performances (the arts, music, anything in between), be outdoors, may be a bit of an adrenaline junky, explore anything new, and has an overall zest for life!

Dr. John-Paul Kelada

Dr. John Paul was born in the old Sutter Roseville Hospital across the street from where the practice is currently located. Growing up, he looked up to his father's work as a doctor, admiring the relationships he created with his patients. He is an alumnus of Del Oro high school, and he went on to earn his undergraduate and medical degree from UC San Diego and University of Vermont, respectively. He completed his residency training in 2018 at Ventura County Medical Center, consistently ranked as one of the nation's top family medicine programs. Some of his unique experiences in medicine include doing field research in rural Chiapas, Mexico regarding indigenous medicine from Shamans, rotating through Cho Ray Hospital in Saigon, Vietnam, as well as working at a rural clinic in Guatemala. He is certified in tropical medicine and has formal training in point-of-care ultrasound. One of his greatest joys in medicine is working with families across generations, from babies to the elderly! His hobbies include spending time with his beautiful wife and three boys, travelling to new places and eating new foods, bike riding, speaking en español, and dishing out corny jokes that are surprisingly tasty!

Dr. Youssry (Joe) Kelada

Dr. Joe was born in Alexandria, Egypt, completed medical school in Cairo, and then moved to the USA. He completed his family medicine residency in Pennsylvania before settling in Roseville, where he established his practice in 1983. Shortly after he initially started, his brother Dr Hayne worked with him for a few years. His work is to now lead the new generation, and he is thrilled to have his children, Alix and John Paul, join him in the practice. His favorite thing about practicing medicine is the friends that he has developed over the years. His hobbies include hiking, snorkeling, and traveling.

After 41 years of private practice, Dr. Joe no longer has a set schedule of seeing patients. At this time, he only fills in for the other providers if they are away.

Dr. Elena Somma

Dr. Somma was born in Argentina and graduated from medical school in Buenos Aires. She enjoys the warm beaches in Hawaii, baking, and spending time with her children. After practicing with Dr Joe Kelada for over 20 years, Dr Somma retired in February of 2022.
